About

Welcome to my Blog!  For 20 years, I was a Photojournalist and later Director of Photography for the Pulitzer Prize winning newspaper The East Valley Tribune based in Mesa, Arizona.   I received over 30 local and regional awards during that time. One of my proudest was the National Humanitarian Award presented by the (NPPA) The National Press Photographers Associations.  I received the award for not taking a “spot news” picture but for taking action when a 14 year old boy was hit and dragged beneath a moving car. I was also excited and honored when the Smithsonian, National Portrait Gallery Institution in Washington, D C accepted my portrait of the late Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater into their archives.

In 2009, I transitioned to commercial photography for 11 more years working primarily with Healthcare organizations and non-profits.  Currently, I continue to photograph as much as I can. Being a life long student of photography, I have many interests as you’ll see throughout this blog.

We’re all narcissistic in one way or another so I’m guilty of wanting to share my work with other photographers and with people in general who appreciate the art and craft of Photography. Please subscribe and feel free to leave a comment or question.  I look forward to the conversation.
